JOURNAL OF SPECULATIVE PHILOSOPHY

SUBMISSIONS:

Manuscripts should be submitted electronically, as indicated below. The journal accepts only completed manuscripts, and shall not accept manuscripts concurrently submitted or under review for print or electronic publication by other journals or other publications. The journal also shall not accept unsolicited book reviews.

Manuscripts should be sent as E-mail attachments to JSP@vanderbilt.edu.

The following formats, listed in order of preference, will be accepted: Microsoft Word 6.0 or higher, rich text format (rtf), or simple text. Please check for and eliminate all viruses before sending. Persons unable to submit manuscripts electronically should send three (3) copies of the manuscript to the Editorial Assistant, JSP, The Pennsylvania State University Press, 820 North University Drive, Suite C, University Park, PA 16802. (Note: All accepted manuscripts must be available in electronic format.)

Manuscripts should be double-spaced, with endnotes and a list of works cited following the text. They should not exceed 30 pages, including endnotes and works cited (7,500 words altogether). All manuscripts should include a list of works cited. On matters of style and documentation, authors should consult The Chicago Manual of Style and recent issues of the journal. All references must be to critical editions of works where such English language editions exist and constitute the standard for scholarship; examples include the Harvard University Press critical edition of the works of William James, the Southern Illinois University Press critical edition of the works of John Dewey, the Indiana University Press critical edition of the chronological writings of Charles S. Peirce, and so on.

Because unsolicited manuscripts submitted for publication undergo a blind review process, the author's name should appear only on the cover page of the manuscript. Receipt of the manuscript will be acknowledged in a timely manner. The editors, with advice from the editorial board and others, will make final decisions in a timely manner, typically within three months, for every manuscript submitted. Except in unusual cases, an editorial decision will be made within three months of manuscript submission. Visit our editorial website at http://www.journalofspeculativephilosophy.org.
